- We characterized the first nuclear genome of the whale shark (Rhincodon typus) using next generation sequencing, de novo assembly and annotation methods, based on material collected from the Georgia Aquarium.
- We report here the first complete sequence of the mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) of the whale shark (Rhincodon typus) obtained by next-generation sequencing methods.
